01Controller and contact
Browser Dollar is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. Data protection enquiries, access requests and complaints should be sent to hello@browserdollar.com and will be acknowledged promptly and answered within one month, or within an extended period where the request is complex and we tell you so.
02Data we collect
Account and identity data: name, email address, password hash, country, account status and membership tier.
Transaction data: plan purchased, amounts, currency, billing dates, renewal status, invoices and partial payment identifiers supplied by our payment processor. We do not receive or store full card numbers.
Application data: where you apply to Fortiva Research, the responses you submit, including trading experience, capital range, income range, weekly time availability, stated objectives, described struggles and social media links.
Usage and learning data: pages viewed, lessons opened, completion status, session attendance, downloads and support messages.
Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, approximate location derived from IP, and cookie identifiers as described in the Cookie Policy.
Communications data: marketing preferences, email engagement events such as delivery, open and click, and correspondence with us.
03How we use data and our lawful bases
Contract performance: creating and maintaining your account, delivering membership content, processing payments and renewals, providing support, and administering applications and enrolment.
Legitimate interests: securing the platform, preventing fraud and credential sharing, understanding which educational material works, improving the playbook, and sending service communications. We balance these interests against your rights and you may object at any time.
Consent: sending marketing emails and the free guide, setting non-essential cookies, and publishing any review or testimonial you submit. Consent may be withdrawn at any time without affecting prior processing.
Legal obligation: retaining transaction and tax records, responding to lawful requests, and meeting accounting and consumer law duties.
04Email marketing and the free guide
When you request the free guide we send a confirmation email to verify the address (double opt-in). The guide and subsequent educational emails are only sent after confirmation. Every marketing email contains a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not affect transactional emails such as receipts, renewal notices, password resets or security alerts, which we must send to operate your account.
05Processors and recipients
We share data with service providers acting on our instructions under written data processing terms: payment processing, email delivery, cloud hosting and database services, authentication, analytics, and customer support tooling. Each is engaged on terms requiring appropriate security and prohibiting use of your data for their own purposes.
We do not sell personal data, do not rent mailing lists, and do not share member data with advertising networks for cross-context behavioural advertising.
We may disclose data where required by law, court order or regulatory request, or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
06International transfers
Some processors operate outside the UK and European Economic Area. Where personal data is transferred internationally we rely on an adequacy decision or on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or Standard Contractual Clauses, together with supplementary technical measures including encryption in transit and at rest.
07Retention
Account and learning data is retained while your account is active and for twenty-four months after it closes, to allow reactivation and to resolve disputes. Transaction and tax records are retained for six years as required by law. Unsuccessful Fortiva Research applications are retained for twelve months so that reapplications can be considered in context, then deleted. Marketing data is retained until you unsubscribe and for a short suppression period afterwards so that we can honour your opt-out.
08Security
We apply technical and organisational measures proportionate to the risk, including encryption in transit, hashed and salted passwords, least-privilege access controls, row-level authorisation on member data, audit logging, rate limiting and bot protection on authentication endpoints, and prompt patching. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify you and the relevant supervisory authority of any qualifying personal data breach without undue delay.
09Your rights
You have the right to be informed, to access a copy of your data, to rectification, to erasure, to restriction of processing, to data portability, to object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing, and to withdraw consent. You also have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing producing legal or similarly significant effects; we do not make such decisions; Fortiva Research applications are reviewed by a person.
To exercise any right, email hello@browserdollar.com. If you are unhappy with our response you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to your local supervisory authority.
10Children
The services are not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If we learn that we hold such data we will delete it promptly.
11Changes to this policy
We review this policy regularly. Material changes will be notified by email or by prominent website notice before they take effect, and the revision date at the top of the page will be updated.
